Little Echoes was established as a day nursery in January 1994, expanding in 2005 to meet the demand for places. The nursery is open from 8am to 6pm offering full day care and education, with the choice of full days and afternoon or morning sessions.

The nursery is open for approximately fifty weeks each year, closing at Christmas and Easter for five days plus the bank holidays; these holidays are followed by an In Service Training Day for staff.

The nursery will work to ensure that the educational and social needs of the children will be identified and provided for with due care and attention, in such a manner as will offer a reliable service for parents. The nursery seeks wherever possible, to enhance the quality of the children's total life experiences, fostering and supporting their development and education.

Our Ofsted inspection took place in 2007 and the result was Good overall. This is an excert " Children thrive in the warm, caring atmosphere of this nursery which is characterised by happy, smiling children and staff who display a genuine enjoyment of the company of the children they care for. A sense of calm is evident throughout all age groups".

Care is provided according to the Sure Start National Standards . Thereby providing children with the opportunities, to achieve their full potential. Children when they leave Little Echoes are fully prepared for the transition to school. In order to achieve this we ensure close links with all local schools are maintained and offer an excellent standard of pre-school education.

For children under the age of three we follow the Birth to Three Matters guidelines, covering the four aspects:

• A Healthy child - physical and emotional development choices and boundaries.
• A skilful communicator - sociable, confident and sharing and communicating.
• A competent learner - creative experimenting, responding and exploring senses.
• A strong child - developing a sence of belonging and self assurance.
